Custom exhaust shop

$1100 to replace two downpipes a midpipe and two oxygen sensors is ridiculous. For something like that, I've seen Legacy guys get whole custom exhausts. Which honestly is the way I'd much rather go. Unfortunately no one I know in town does such things and I'm having a hard time finding one nearby. Anyone know a custom exhaust shop around Ithaca? Rochester, Syracuse, etc?

Chances are you'll end up with a worse than stock exhaust unless the person has worked on an SVX before and knows what kind of back pressure to do, the do's and don'ts for creating a decent sound on a flat 6 etc. Might want to see what someone like SVXfiles can do for ya. He's made a couple race exhausts for us plus is like on his 25th or so personal exhaust so he's definately got it fairly well figured out at this point.;)

I would agree with Benebob! I think someone like him who knows and loves these cars will do a much better job than someone who is just doing exhaust systems for money. I would check with him about the specifications even if you don't have him do it. You can't get better information than someone who has been doing this for a while and specializing in them. Good luck. :)
