Rear seat question
Is it possible to put the 60/40 split rear seat from a later year SVX into a 92? Just curious, as I have had the rear seat down a lot lately.

I have not done this yet, but I am absolutely sure that it would be an easy thing. Not as easy as my first wife, but pretty darn easy! |
Something I'm interested in doing as well.

Re: Rear seat question
So, your 92 isn't 50-50 like my 95?
|
Correct. It's just one piece.

Re: Rear seat question
Only 94+ LSi were split folding in the rear.
WHat you need is a split fold seat, the split fold type trunk carpet holders (most likely can get them when you order the split fold seat) and I think that's honestly all of it. Everything else is exactly the same.:) |
Re: Rear seat question
Hmmm, interesting. I will be keeping an eye out for gray leather whenever I see a 94+ model part outs.

Good luck with the search, just wanted to warn you that you may be looking for quite some time to find a split fold in grey.:) |

Additionally, I believe there is an extra bracket that must be attached near the base of the rear seat in the center. I don't believe the pre 94 cars have the captive nuts in the body to accommodate this bracket. Mike621 can chime in here as I know he has a 97 interior in his 92. |

Not having the captive nut is not a problem as ond can drill a hole in the correct place and insert some.;) Like they do in fiberglass hoods and such. |

I have been slightly curious about this as well. Eventually I'd figure it all out. just might be a few years down the road... |
Re: Rear seat question
I had a 94 Pearlie over the summer which had the split seats. Pic for reference.
