Rear seat question

Is it possible to put the 60/40 split rear seat from a later year SVX into a 92? Just curious, as I have had the rear seat down a lot lately.

Yes.
I have not done this yet, but I am absolutely sure that it would be an easy thing.
Not as easy as my first wife, but pretty darn easy!

Something I'm interested in doing as well.

So, your 92 isn't 50-50 like my 95?

NikFu S. 12-25-2010 02:48 PM

Correct. It's just one piece.

Re: Rear seat question

Only 94+ LSi were split folding in the rear.
WHat you need is a split fold seat, the split fold type trunk carpet holders (most likely can get them when you order the split fold seat) and I think that's honestly all of it. Everything else is exactly the same.:)

Hmmm, interesting. I will be keeping an eye out for gray leather whenever I see a 94+ model part outs.

Good luck on finding any split fold grey rear seats. Most LSi's had beige interior, the exception being 94/95 Emerald Green LSi. Those I believe from memory are the only LSi's with grey interior. Possibly pearlies as well but I'm not sure. The pearl LS's all had grey interior but pearl whites were canceled out mid year 94 with only around 100 or so being made that year total.
Good luck with the search, just wanted to warn you that you may be looking for quite some time to find a split fold in grey.:)

Your info isnt quite right. The only late model LSi cars with gray interior were the 94 pearl white and 94-96 laguna blue. Emerald LSi cars had the tan interior.

Additionally, I believe there is an extra bracket that must be attached near the base of the rear seat in the center. I don't believe the pre 94 cars have the captive nuts in the body to accommodate this bracket. Mike621 can chime in here as I know he has a 97 interior in his 92.

Thanks Mike, I wasn't quite sure. I haven't had a chance to look closely at any of the split folders. I was trying to rationalize in my head and think of anything I could since I know that often times questions just go unanswered here, and especially with it being the holidays/weekend, its easy for thread to go unanswered.:(

Merry Christmas Mike.
Not having the captive nut is not a problem as ond can drill a hole in the correct place and insert some.;)
Like they do in fiberglass hoods and such.

I had a 94 Pearlie over the summer which had the split seats. Pic for reference.
