Hi Everyone!

Hi,

I'm NEW to this forum, and I'm very excited being here! Actually I'm from Japan, been in L.A. for about 4 years now.. Just last spring, I was finally able to become an owner of SVX!! Been in love for too long..
My SVX is '92 LSL, white. When I bought this car, it had 95K on it, and it was somewhat reasonable price. Love driving this everyday:D

BTW, I have already put some pix into my personal locker, so please check those out!

Welcome again, Ryu. Your pics look cool. Mind asking? How much did you get for your SVX? If getting the same one as yours at CA(year, miles, high-end model) , Would it cost more in Japan? If you want to get one in Japan and ship it to other asian countries, would it cost alot? :D

OMG I just looked at your locker, where did you get the SVX model kit????? i want one so bad, and by the way your real SVX looks great too!!!

NapaBavarian,
When I went to that store, I felt like i was in heaven. never seen that a lot SVX before. I think i was talking too much with one of sales guy over there.. But you know I Can't stop when I talk about SVX!

SSSVX,
Oh, my SVX was $4999. When the sales guy told me about the price, I wasn't expected because on their website, it said $5999. And they told me they just rebuilt the tranny, with 5000 miles warranty. Comes with clean head lites too:D
When I test drove, I was amazed by that torque the engine had. Fell in love again, and next day, I bought it!
BTW, the SVX market in Japan, it really depends on the condition and mileage. That store has a lot of SVXs, ranging from $5000-30,000. If they have SVX like mine, (super hi mileage, year, dents, etc, etc, ) I beileve they would sell it less than $4000.
I don't really know about the shipping to the other countries, but at least I can say, it's not cheap/easy. Actually at that store, I saw one Black SVX, US version. (radio not working in Japan) That SVX was like $30,000 with 27K miles on it.
They had a lot of SVXs almost like never been used, oh I just wanted to get those nice ones! If I have money..

svxgirl92,
Thanks!
I was kinda waiting someone would ask about the model. I guess that's the first 1/24 scale SVX model. There was this requested program, and they asked this model company, Studio27, and they actually made the model kits for only those people who reserved one. It was limited production, I guess less than 300, and price is...180bucks! I ordered it when I was in the U.S. , and they only shipped inside Japan. Thanks to my parents in Japan, I was able to get it. But they were shocked about the price, considering the # of parts and the detail of the model. It was pretty painfull to work on. Sanding, shaping, sanding shaping, polishing... The cast resin model(right?) is for expert modelers. It took my whole winter vacation in Japan to finish! Unfortunately, my SVX model is sitting on the desktop in Japan. I was affraid to bring it since it's really fragile.
But it's OK, I have my real SVX with me right now in L.A.:D
I hate to say this, but the chance is really low to get this model kit, but I guess other people in Japan are working on another SVX model.. I don't know when it's gonna come out, but if i figure out, I will let all of you know about it ASAP.

Since I just started a new job and 2 another freelance jobs, I will not go back to Japan for a while from now on. Even if I do, it will be extremely short. Before, I was a college student, and used to go back to home less than once/yr.

As for as I know, I think you can get more SVX parts in the US.. that's what the guy at the SVX store in Japan told me. The red SVX in the pic is the manager's car, and that one had the clear head lites from the U.S. , and they often check and order some parts from US...to Japan.
There maybe a lot of performance parts, but I'm not really sure..sorry. I haven't seen so many SVX perfonmance parts in Japan.

Welcome! What part of Los Angeles are you located in? I'm a fan of the West Coast (I was born in Santa Monica). As if SVXs aren't rare enough, they are almost extinct in the Los Angeles area. At least that was what I observed during my last visit to the LA area (everyone is driving Beamers and Benz's).

Welcome to the site. You have a nice SVX there. :)

Welcome to the site, Ryu. I have to say, I'm really jealous of the model. But I can also see the difficulty you must have encountered in assembling it.

Your profile lists your occupation as 'designer.' What kind of design do you do?

I'm in L.A. area, really close to Pasadena. I went college in Pasadena. You're right.. I don't see so many SVX's around. But in my college parking area(small), including my SVX, there were 3 SVXs. Those are my friends. Actually, because of SVX, we started to know each other.
Isn't that great? SVX makes friends!
I also went to Oregon before came to L.A. Sometimes I make trip to OR, and only in 2 weeks, already so many people came to me and asked about my car! So nice especially when they say, "Is it a new car?"
:D

Yes, the SVX scale model was not an easy job to do.. I wished some major model brands shoud have make SVX model kits.

I'm just starting my new job, designing toys. Not real cars, but cars for little kids!
