Gear Ratio & fuel consumption
Can some one help me understand how rev's effect fuel consumption. It was suggested that my higher gear 5 speed box would give better fuel cunsumption then the 6 speed which has lower gearing for rally. I understand that the 6 speed will mean the engine revs higher for the same speed but how does that work against fuel consumption?

well under light load, the engine is going to base fuel consumption off of the rpms. But for the most part this is minimal. I mean, I still get over 20mpg in my silver with the stage 3 and the 6mt(JDM with close ratio gear set) Really depends on how you drive it. If you smash on it, its gonna burn more gas.
