Newbie needs help...

Hello everyone, just pick up a 92 SVX after looking for awhile. Being a project kind of guy, it's needing some help. Had a overheating problem that so far has turned out to be a frozen water pump bearing. I'm about to put it all together and have a couple of ??. Timing belt tension, how does one adjust the tension on the belt, or does it self adjust?? I have considerable amount of car back ground (BMW tech for 5 years) but don't know the Subarus. Looking forward to working with car.....thanks!!

Greetings Ben,

In view of your background it would appear that as yet you have not sighted the adjuster, as it is quite sophisticated and obviously self adjusting once set up. This is a component with a wear factor and some, as a matter course replace it during a timing belt change, by way of precaution.

Cheers, Trevor.
