Trunk to the head
Anyone have their trunk fall on their head yet? I was getting my jack out yesterday and i didnt put the trunk up all the way and all 40 lbs of it came crashing down and nailed me in the head. I have a huge bump and a fair sized cut. What was Subaru thinking?

Sounds like you need new trunk struts. :(

HAH! You pulled a reverse "Rufus"! Judges give you a 7.5. Had their been film you may have scored higher. ;)

Was your car parked on an incline? Even with dead struts, the lid should stay up -- if a bit precariously -- when raised fully.
Mine were completely shot when I got my SVX. Replaced 'em about a year ago, and noticed on some chilly day recently that the cold definitely affects their performance. (Surely they're not already wearing-out...?) To think that I never had to replace the gas struts on the rear hatch of my '86 wagon, which I bought new and sold in 2000. (And that hatch was substantial.) Subaru should have employed a strut with more muscle, or some spring-operated arrangement, for the trunk lid of the SVX. dcb |

Of course you realize if you were in England, the title of this thread would be: Boot To The Head! :p

The Rufus video is still in the Rufus locker, titled "ouch"

I had both hood and trunks fell on me. And I live in the windy city. My back was in pain once for a long while.
