fuel type? what octane is best?

Hi, can anyone tell me what octane fuel i should use. I have a 96 UK spec SVX. its got 72k , if that's important. i have been using shell V-Max with 99 octane. Will this harm engine in any way?

Also, whats this about 4ws? is this just a usa thing or has mine got that too

If, as you say, you have a UK model then the handbook specifies 95 octane (Reserch Method) on page 1-2. The US measure octane differently to us in the UK (and most of the rest of the world) http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Octane_rating explains the differences in measurement.
You are not harming your engine by using 99 octane, and there is anecdotal evidence that an occasional tankful of one of the new formulations may be beneficial by cleaning the injectors, combustion chambers and valves.

The 4ws was primarily a japanese thing and has never been an offering in the USA or the UK.
