alarm sensitivity

Ok I posted a message in technical but no reply. So here goes again.
Any experience with adjusting the alarm sensitivity if any. The people here in Castle Rock Colorado are real a** Holes. I have aquired several door dents some with the offending cars paint. I would like to set the alarm to go off when the damage my car if for no other reason than to point a finger at them when caught in the act. Selfless inconsiderate boobs. Help

Mike,
The sensitivity can only be set at the module. The location of the module depends upon your model year. 92-93 has the module behind the glove box (you have to remove the innards of the glove box to get to the module). The 94-97 models have the module attached to the rear deck shelf ( you have to remove the inner [in the trunk] rear deck lining to get to it).

Once you get to the module, there are two "slotted" adjustment type holes. The larger of the two is the fuse. The smaller is the sensitivity adjustment. See attachment.

ADDITIONAL NOTE: I've tried to attach the diagram, but, for some reason, it will not accept it. I'll try your e-mail address in your profile. If you don't have it enabled, e-mail me at trspit80@aol.com and I'll respond with the attachment.

I went through the motions . . . the blue bar went across the bottom, as usual, but, it just froze there. When I dumped out of it, after a long wait, the post was there, but the attachment wasn't.

Oh, crap. I just figured it out! I'd forgotten to convert to a jpeg. I have no choice but to save scans first as bmp's, so, now I've done it. Here it is. Sorry.

I just looked at the file, it was a bmp. Maybe if I try it as a jpeg. I'll try again now:

Hmmm -- apparently, it didn't work again. :(

aredub, can you email me the attachment also and direction to reach the module. I have a 92LsL. I want to increase the sensivity because of the kids in parking lot. They play in parking lot and sometime bump my car. They will scare away if I have a sensitive alarm.

Beav 01-27-2002 08:26 AM

Of course you realize that if the alarm is too sensitive that a windstorm can set it off. Plus if it's going off all the time people will start throwing stuff at it...

Beav

When I had my original module in, the popping of the dash would set it off. I've since replaced it and backed off the sensitivity. That, also due to the fact that one of my co-workers doesn't have mufflers on any of his cars or his motorcycle, so, he used to set off the alarm on my previous car every time he pulled into the lot.

If you want to post your e-mail address, I'd be glad to. I can't attach files from the "profile" e-mail address.

hey aredub, my email address is ravirobin@hotmail.com . I remember that motorcycle thing happened in front of me. I went to a farm and this lady had a Trans AM. A group of motorcyle passed by making a lot of noise and her alarm went off. My and my bro were laughing on that scene.
Beav, kids in my parking lot won't touch my car if they know that my alarm goes off very easily. I have seen that before.

I'm gonna try this again with another browser.

isn't it possible to email directly from your email account to me instead of going to SVX site and give attachment through it ??

Well, I'm using a different account and browser than usual and my "Network" e-mail isn't allowing me to send. I'll e-mail you once I'm on my AOL account. Sorry this has become such a pain. It's pretty frustrating for me too.
