can someone tell the difference between CASTROL GTX and MOBIL 1?
castrol is mneral?and mobil is syntec?with is better?

i'm not sure about that...but i personally use mobil 1. not saying that it;s better than the castrol.
i wouldn't mind going to something higher in grade than mobil 1....i think it might be royal purple or red line...not sure right now...i knew before.

Mobile one extended life (15k miles) is very good. Change the filter every 5k miles and add when needed. It's great!

synthetic vs mineral
 

Hi,

Fully synthetic (100%) is supposed to be the best for your engine, which is why it also generally costs more than mineral or partially synthetic. The difference is that when your engine is off (cold), the synthetic oil keeps all engine parts coated with a thin coat of oil compared to mineral which drips off/down when car is parked. So when you start your engine with synthetic, there is no (minimal) friction and therefore maximum protection.

PS: I'm not an expert, but this is what I've been told by several people. Then again, oils (most popular ones) are in these days so advanced and developed that they all have enough additives that there are less and less differences between one brand or the other.

Mobil 1 or any 100% synthetic oil is best for winter start-ups here in the north.
