what is this?
I am going through a box of svx stuff and found this in a small unmarked white box.
I am going through all my svx stuff, I am just going to post in this thread when I find something that I cant identify. I don't want to start 10 threads.. Anyone know what it is? http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a...whatisthis.jpg |
Re: what is this?
The chip is a TSB Rom for the ECU and the wire is for the ECUTune board so you can hook up a switch to run regular gas. The gold socket slides onto a pin on the board.

Re: what is this?
So your saying this is the stock chip that was in the ecu before I installed the ecutune chip?
Thanks! It was in a box of parts and I couldn't remember what it was. I'm sorting through all my svx stuff.. I have a 4' x 3' Rubbermaid tub filled with small misc parts and computers and switches and god knows whats. |
Re: what is this?
Ok, I found these god knows whats in a plastic bag.
What are these, and should I just give them to the scrap metal guy? http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a...hesethings.jpg Also, what are these rusted pulleys to? Are these to far gone? Should I just give these to the scraper guy? http://i923.photobucket.com/albums/a...ustedpully.jpg |
Re: what is this?
The top one looks like front cam covers. The second is cam pullies.

Re: what is this?
^ Yep. The first two are the front cam caps. Cam cap = piece that holds the cam down against the head, and also that the cam slides against as it rotates. The front cam caps also double as a cover for the valvetrain. They might be worth something to someone, I'd hang onto them (but I am kind of a pack-rat).

Re: what is this?
the first one is a genetically engineered spider. The red thing is what it eats, and amazingly, also what it poops.
The second one is the wrist lock mechanism from a set of aluminum stocks, which are still used in certain Arab localities. The third one is a pair of stylin' party hats. The way the arrow points can have, uhm, interesting repurcussions. |

Re: what is this?
Ok, So I keep them cam covers with the set of valve covers I found, they may be of use to someone.
Are those the main pulley? I have a new aftermarket pulley in a box, if its the same one I will just give these rusted things to my metal scrap guy. |
Re: what is this?
They are cam pulleys not the main crank pulley. You could keep them with the cam covers or scrap them.
