signal from speed sensor 2 on tranny...

Just wondering... does anyone know what type of electrical signal is produced by the speed sensor attached to the tranny? I'm wondering if its a pulse wave form with frequency that is scales with speed, or is it a DC signal with voltage that scales with speed. Or maybe its something else? Anyone have any experience with this?

Mychailo,
I think there was a thread on recalibrating SVX speedometers that had this info buried in it. I think Trevor might have provided the info..

p.s. did you get my email re payment method for the rear springs?

Hi Bill,

Thanks for the lead on the speedometer signal. I'm looking now. I sent you an email on the balance for the springs.

In case you didn't find it, have a look at my postings on the European forum:

Thanks! I don't need to convert from kph to mph, but the info in that thread is exactly what I wanted. I need a speed converter like the one you mentioned. Besides SVA, do you know where else I can find a speed converter like that?

Here's a few I dug up with google...

If you need a US supplier, check your local phone book for places which recalibrate digital speedometers. I expect they would be able to source the chip.

Some companies sell chips which can be programmed to adjust the frequency in order to compensate for changing the size of the tyres.
