i just want better tanks. never had a problem with the svx running hot. never before last weekend ever had a problem w/ the radiator at all. now i just want stronger tanks the core can be the same id they want to keep it simple.

BTW i might bail on this if it doesn't get going soon. i can buy a new radiator and try to fab aluminum tanks for the blown one probly before this happens. Just letting u know i am getting antsy

Progress

We need to get moving on this or we are going to force those with an immediate(star52) need to move on. Can we pitch $50.00 more per unit and get this going?

LarryIII 11-18-2004 04:45 AM

Chris,

Put me down for one of these radiators w/ AFT cooler.
Send me a PM with the adress where I send the check.

Thanks.

The ball is already rolling. As of today a cracked tank factory SVX radiator should be in stransit to PWR for them to measure and such. Just becuse they asked for 20 orders, did not stop them from starting the project. Will keep you all informed.

As for more and or less cores, the main section of the radiator should not differ from the facotry one. This is gonig to be as close to a factory radiator as possible. The only things that might be a tad difference will be tank size and heat exchanger in the lower tank for the tranny fluid.

awsome, whats the time frame from here on out so people needing a radiator like myself can know whats going on with their cars. thnx

How much cheaper would it be to have the radiators made without the tranny cooler? (for us 5 speeders)

Earthworm 11-18-2004 02:38 PM

For those with a little patience and want to see what an all-metal radiator could look like for the SVX I have several pictures at http://svx-iw.com/pics/radiator/ of my failed installation attempt.

I say patience because they are large pics and will take a little while to download off my computer.

TomsSVX 11-18-2004 02:47 PM

what was wrong w/ that one? why didn't it work

Earthworm 11-18-2004 03:09 PM

The dimensions were relatively good but the core was too thick. (couldn't mount the fans).

Also look at the pics of it installed. (hood couldn't close)

TomsSVX 11-18-2004 03:28 PM

ah gotcha, i was wondering it it was too thick and too high. Anyway, i am still intirested to see if i can fab tanks for our stock cores. has anyone tried that? my father is an excellent welder and he can weld aluminum like no other so maybe i can try it. Anyway the biggest problem for me would be the cap housing. well we will see as soon as i get another one, plastic or aluminum which even comes first.

Put me down for one.

I just bought an SVX today, I have been a big fan for a while now and I finally got one.

I have no idea if the car I bought will have any probs but this certainly can't be a bad mod to do.

Thanks

Yes, we are moving! I just posted yesterday that a radiator was being shipped to PWR for measurements. One of our old time members (Immortal Subie) shipped it Thursday to PWR. He didnt spare any expense to time either, for he shipped it Fed-Ex. It shoudl arrive sometime today at PWR. Cool!?:D
