Some sad news;

Mike (longassname) at ECU Tune has closed his business.
He was always great to deal with and his products always worked (if installed properly).
We as a community have lost some great people over the years.

I guess you don't know what you've got untill it's gone.

That's terrible. I hope it's not health related. The rest is just money.

Thank you for your concern.

Bummer, I hope it wasn't for a bad reason.

Re: Some sad news;

For whatever reason Mike decided that it was not worth it anymore.
I have said in the past that WE as a comunity have to support the people who benifit us, or TRY to benifit us.
Young Tom closed the doors at AllWe'llDrive.
He might be the best SVX mechanic ever! (at least in the top two):eek:
Mychailo developed suspension parts (and other things) that were easy to install and made a difference.
There are others who have have/had a passion for the SVX who bring forth ideas if not products to help us go forward.

We still have some people truely devoted to saving/improving the SVX,
Dayle at Motorsports for example, Nate1986, (yes a slacker but still):p
We can no longer buy Koni's.
We can no longer afford to buy PWR radiators. ($900.00?!?!)
Porter is gone, Trevor is gone.
Next time you need an alternator how about call Christian at Maniac Motors...
My suggestion is to find someone who can keep these cars on the road and make them better of learn how to do it yourself.

PS, Thank God for the Aussies!

Trevor is still here - just lurking in the background, I hear from him when he feels that someone is being led up the garden path...so he still gets his 2 pennies worth on the forum.

So sad to hear about Mike. Concerning the SVX modifications in terms of suspension and others, only wish shipping to the US was cheap. I might have a good forwarder soon, the mods I have done to mine are really worth it and better than Konis.

Cannot understand why the PWR went up from $450 to $900?

As for Trevor, he is a really nice guy, he helped me on numerous occasions and I think we really need knowledgeable people like him. Nate with all the pressure going on with him at Pennant, is rarely here. OAB_AU is gone... Good thing we still have OT and John as active members on this forum.

Very sad. All of my SVXi have had various ECUtune items, my silver has the transmission cooling method suggested by Mike

There's always Hydra, which according to Nate is the best route for turbo tuning, especially with YT's base map.

I've still got his infamous 150HP Ecutune stage 2 nitrous setup in the garage. Hate to see him leave the svx trade, but a man's gotta eat too.

Re: Some sad news;

I really think our answer is converting to parts from other subarus. We know the STi has pretty similar suspension components, and the transmissions bolt up. Instead of getting discouraged that we're slowly loosing upgrades, we should be focusing on fitting other parts from other subies.
