How can I improve radio reception?
I normally listen to FM radio, but with all the war coverage, I have been listening to AM and noticed a lot of "electric noise" in the signal, particularly in weak signal areas. The noise increases with RPMs. Going up hill, it actually "steps" up not smoothly like the rpms, but like something is engaging in steps.
Is there anything that can be done to either boost the signal or to reduce the electric noise? Thanks in advance. Matt |
replace the radio.

It's possible your antenna ground is dirty. Try cleaning it. If you pop the panel, under the E-Brake handle, and look toward the driver's footwell, that's your ground.
Otherwise, the trouble is somewhere else in your electrical system. Of course, AM is given to interference from all kinds of sources, especially alternator interference. Just some thoughts. |
slap a big ol' chunk of tin foil on the top of your antenna, and then duct tape into place. that should work.:D

install a noise filter - you can get them at PepBoys, Advance Auto, Best Buy, etc.
