Known Problems

well i'm new to the svx, my outback sport has arisin with an 'unknown problem' it dies in the rain, and nobody can figure out why.
anyway so i'm sellin it, and i'm hopin to get an svx, i'm weighing it however
i've read many posts and many ppl mention the known problems
i however do not know the known problems
what are they

the know problems that seem to surface.

Transmission failure - indicated by MANY things... some of which include, slipping or "flaring" between geers. Loss of upper gears, AWD binding in tight turns, shuttering at speed. The list goes on and on.

Rear wheel bearing failure - indicated by a howling sound from the rear of car at speed.

Warping of front brake rotors - indicated by a shuttering sensation, and vibration of the steering wheel when brakeing. Especially from high speeds.

Alternator Failure - Indicated by 'dash lit up like a christmas tree' effect. Nearly all the warning lights will come on when the alternator is failing.

Did i miss anything, guys?

-Mike

PS- the best thing to do is have one of us from the network here with expierance check out an SVX before you buy it. It usually works out well that way.
