Bringing Home #2 - PA to Saskatchewan
 

Hi Gang,
Well, I'm on the road to Moosic PA to pick up my93 AE. I hope you all don't mind if I post my progress here on the forum, it's a great way for my wife and kids to monitor my progress.

I was up at 4;30 to catch a 6:00 a.m. flight to Toronto. I'm sitting in a bar in the toronto airport waiting for my flight to Allentown, PA. When I get to Allentown, SUBBYRU89 and Hocrest from the forum here have generously offered to pick me up and take me to Moosic to pick up my 93. Ya know, I really wanted a SVX (or two) but I really had no idea that when I got one, I'd become part of this great SVX family. I think that's what makes owning an SVX even more special.

I'm going to try and make it home for Fathers Day but it might be tough in that I also want to stop

I'm on the road. Dave and Melis got me on the road, thanks you two, you were a great help. The car is running great, 85mph all the way. I'll need some tires and paint someday but mechanically it's great and the interior is mint! And it has ALL the goodies that it originally came with.

The highlight so far is blowing by a wagon-train of Firedirds.

I'll send pics when the sun comes up.

Holy "Toledo" I had a good drive last night. Still running great. This car is really tight and solid, no creaks or rattles or anything. And talk about keeping it original, it even has a Subaru battery. When I stopped to sleep last night I was looking through all the goodies, besides manuals, cup holder, etc, etc it even has the visor extension attachement and under the drivers seat I even found the pen that originally came with the manuals.

Should be in Chicago in under two hours.

Hey Randy, hope all is well. You never did email those pics to me, but that's all good. I'm sure you're looking forward to showing them off yourself! Check your email for an update on my car. My pearlie is plated :cool: Can't wait to check out your pair o' reds.

You couldn't pay me enough to live in Chicago! I spent two hours on the EXPRESSway, what a joke. They charge you 2.50 to get on, you drive down a "path" of potholes and fresh oil just to get to a traffic jam. I'll take 3 feet of snow and minus 40 temperatures over that any day.
