thought I would share this with the community.....

Me and my girl and at this party, and its going good, till about 6 dudes show up to crash it a little before midnight. the owner of the house, kicks them out almost right away. Skip ahead about 2 hours, and me and my girl decide to head out back to her place. so we walk out the door, down the driveway, when those same guys start hollering **** at me and her. As im walking to her car, trying to ignore those punks, they ALL get out of the car and start making thier way towards us. This all happened in a blink of an eye. I get tangled up with one of the kids, while his buddy staight cold-cocks me and busts open my lip, i then was tackled into the snow and beat on for about 5 mins by 3 or 4 guys. they let me up and speed off in thier truck. i called the cops, they took a report, and i guess thats that. I wish there was an easier and faster way to catch these kids. My lip is busted, and a few of my ribs dont feel right. this is an unfair and cowardly world.
Oh, and their "justification"?
they were mad they got kicked out, and decided to take it out on the first ppl to leave the house. Thank God they left my girl alone. just goes to show you how much of a f*cked up world we live in. I hope none of you ever have to go through that,

wait about 6 months...that way they PROBABLY will have ruined someone elses day / forgot about ruinig yours / not expecting revenge....
Go get yourself some automotive use paint stripper (Surprisingly, wal-mart sells some of the most potent **** I know of, called aircraft stripper) and brush a nice thick coating over their entire car sometime in the middle of the night. Make sure to get it on their rubber moldings, wheels....prettymuch all the stuff it says NOT to use it on. If you can smother their dashboard thatd be cool too. It also works very well at ahnilating fiberglass, vynal siding, ect. so if you realy, really, really want to, you can ruin their house or boat too

Then imidiatly move out of state. Done deal

This is very disconcerning, and it sucks! I have gone and am currently going through something similar to you. If you are serious about doing something about this, you need to act quickly...for your sake. You need to contact the commissioner of the county in which this happened...actually you and your gf need to go there and fill out a complaint, the commissioner based on your statement will determine whether an arrest warrant is needed. I am not sure if you stated it, but you need to try and get as much information on these individuals as possible, chances are they knew someone at the party, ask around...you may need to play detective because a crime that does not happen in the presence of an officer is highly unlikely to be persued unless by the actual victim.

Also, document as much as you can so you do not forget the details and take pictures...better yet consult a doctor, save the bills. This will all be for your benefit when the state brings charges against these individuals.

This is the very beginning of what you need to do. The longer you wait, the more insignificant it will look on your part and the more likely the chance of you saying eh just screw it. If you are definately in the right and you have strong convictions follow through....this is what i have done and am in the process.

Oh and I just read your post a little more thoroughly, says you called the cops and made a statement...again this is not it. A cop will just sit on it. To them this sort of thing happens all the time. 9 times out of 10, the parties just don't follow up, so if the victims don't care why should the cops. If you have the cops contact info, follow up and give them as much info as possible. In my experience, you will still need to go to the commissioner's office. In my situation a report was filed as well, but i still needed to go the commissioner's office.

Try for stuff that typical insurance won't cover. The last thing you want is to get these morons a check from their insurance company.

Get a concealed weapons permit, buy a compact handgun, learn how to use it. Carry it with you at all times. ONLY use it in self defense. Most times pulling it out of the holster is enough to see a$$holes and elbows.

Or in your case buy your gf a gun and teach her how to use it.

Learn to fight.
The majority of people can't.
Guns are nice, but people like this might call your bluff so you have two options, pocket the gun and get your ass kicked, or shoot someone.

So, learn to fight.

Its sad that happened to you. Could you of gotten in the car and took off? Follow up on your report and if they catch them press charges. In this situation I agree with what Nik said. Learn to fight but so you can defend yourself and get a gun legally (permit, training, etc) The next time who knows they might not let you up or you just cant get up.

I have to work on my 3-on-1 fighting skills, myself. With all the late interest, it's a bear to get a session in with Chuck Norris anymore!

3 on 1 is easy if you use something like Judo and just toss your opponents away. Fighting doesn't necessarily have to entail whupping ass or knocking someone out. That's why karate is an art of self defense. 1 on 1, something like boxing is fine, but it's useless here. It may seem like movie magic to some people but with a little agility and quick thinking it is fairly easy to overcome 5 or 6 jocks.

Learning to fight takes a long time and lot of effort, so in the meantime, just carry a knife or something. You don't have to load it and won't get arrested for pointing it at someone, and it wil keep thugs from approaching you.
Only problem you'll run into is your opponent may be able to disarm you quite easily if your not sure of yourself. I personally would not fear a person with a blade of any sort. Limit their range of movement and it's useless.

I think if anyone finds themself in this situation in the future, tell your girl to just run and phone the cops if she can, or if she can't help. The first guy that approaches you, hit him as hard as you can. Just run up on him like a bull and as soon as he's dizzy just bolt outta there. If they follow, repeat the process. If you get "tangled up", you are done. Just give up. Don't try kung fu or anything if you honestly do not understand the concepts.

I'm not trying to act like some expert on getting mugged here, but I am a small guy and I have fought with many people much larger than me, though usually one on one. Showing confidence in yourself and your ability is usually enough to deter a bully.
