Before you hit the finish line, your wheel bearings will blow out. I'd say, concede.

Faster? In what sort of contest? Stoplight to stoplight(stop right there unless you want to deal with the mods)? Reno to Vegas? :) Drag strip? Old R&T specs show the IS300 at 7.0sec 0-60 and 15.4sec 1/4mi. Unable to find Passat w/1.8T but new Beetle with same motor would not be as quick, in a lighter car. at 7.6 sec 0-60 and 15.8 1/4mi. Can be chipped to go like mad though.
These specs from 2005 issue, comparing to a car 9 yrs older. Remember the SVX is not a "dragster", or a true "sports car", but in it's element has few peers for under $40K. Glenn |
something something street racing in a school zone. http://images.nasioc.com/forums/imag.../blankface.gif

you'd do alright. are you a skilled driver?

start mentioning some fast cars here
none of those even break the 15 second barrier in the 1/4 mile lets talk real cars  |
Everyone asks if the svx is fast...I tell them it is quite slow. eeveryone defines "fast" diffrently and my idea of fast isnt quite the same as it'll be for someone owning a vw or a ferrari.
That being said, the svx should be on par with the is...that'd be a nice show at the drag strip. |

the SVX is not a dragster, but will cruise highways comfortably, as it was designed. |

With all the problems your car has you are already street racing it? Or is that - all of your car's problems are caused by street racing it.
Either way - Fail. |
