Rattle noise in 4th gear
 

Sorry to post it twice, I realized that Technical Q&A may be a better suited forum ...

There is a ratlle noise I hear, noticeable in the 4th gear. A lot less in the 3rd. If I take the foot of the gas pedal, it stops.

The car has about 75K miles (1992), not a lot for sure.

I read about lots of problems with the transmission - is this related?

Also, how much does it cost to fix the transmission, should that problem occur at some point in time?
Trying to get an idea of what would it take to keep the car - I simply love it.


Any suggestion/advice much appreciated.

First thing I would check is if the driveshaft is rubbing/ close to rubbing on any heat shields.
