Went Muddin' and got Stalker stuck at 5:45pm!!!!
Oh yea, by now most everyone knows who I am... And I'm sure that everyone knows about my Jeep and all the stories behind it... One of them being that I chased down an SVX owner here in SC. (Didn't catch him, but put up quite a challenge for about 5-10 min). Well the next chapter in "Stalker's" book is a muddy one.... I figured I'd write about this one because it was kinda funny at the time.... Yesterday (sunday) I was bored out of my mind, so I called up a buddy of mine and asked him if he wanted to come check out these trails that I found... He never turns down a chance to go muddin', so off we went. Me in my Jeep and him in his S-10 that is all rigged out for the job(mud tires, lift kit, all that good stuff)... We get going down these trails (I mean trails almost like what you would ride a 4 wheeler on) going over all sorts of ground and through mud and water..... Then about 20 minutes into our little adventure I come accross this really big mud hole, about 20-25 feet long.... I'm thinking "Yea, I bet I can make it, it dosn't look too bad".... Wrong!!!! My Jeep is a 2wd, 4 banger, but it's got the heart of a real 6 cylinder 4wd Jeep..... So I take off twards the whole 1st gear......... 2nd gear........trying to get as much speed as I can before I hit it... Then Wham!!!! I hit the mud at about 25 mph and imeadiatly slow to snail's crawl.... I'm going....going, almost there..... almo.... Thump!!!.... I had sunk into a really deep section of soft mud right at the end of the hole... I was thinking "not bad, I'll just try to rock it a bit" nope, that didn't work..... So after about 2-3min of sitting there just spinning my wheels, Bobby comes up laughing his A$$ off saying how funny it was to see me hit a the mud so fast, and how far the mud flew when I was trying so despreatly to get out... Maybe what he didn't realize was that It was already 5:45pm and some times it can take hours to free a stuck Jeep... He stoped laughing eventually....... (To make the story a little shorter I'm gonna skip the details about the attempts to get out....) So anyway after about 2 hours of trying to winch me out with a tree and a comealong, we finally hooked a tow strap to the back of my Jeep (which was under the water now!!!) and he pulled his truck in, hooked up and yanked me out.... I would have enjoyed it a bit more if the sun was out but it was dark and we were using flash lights to see.... We were also working under influence of alot of adrenaline, cause I sure didn't want to be stuck there the next day and have my Jeep found and something happen to it. But I have to admit it was really fun though!! And I have pictures of the experience comming as soon as I get them developed, but for now I managed to get my SSGT's digital camera and go take some pics in the parking lot this morning.... They are in my locker.... Have fun and sorry for the ultra long post, just couldn't pass up telling everyone about this!!!!
