Radiator overflow snapped
 

Has anyone ever had their radiator overflow hose connection snap off the fill neck?

Has anyone glued it back with sucess? Hate to replace the rad for such a small problem

Any glue recommendations? Thanks

I have replaced cracks in the radiator plastic with some gunk called magnum steel and had great success so far. About 6 months and no sign of leaks. I don't know about the whole neck breaking off though. That might be asking too much out of epoxy. Since it is only the overflow and not a huge deal if it breaks again you could definitely give it a try. Make sure to sand down the mating surfaces and use rubbing alcohol to clean it up before using any epoxy.
I also tried JB weld and some marine epoxy and those did not work.

You might want to find a smaller tube,maybe of some kind of metal to put inside as a sleeve to make the bond stronger. I think it will just break off right away if you just try to butt glue it.;)

That's exactly what I did with the rear windshield spray nozzle. It stopped spraying so I decided to take it apart to clean it, but I didn't think to disconnect it from below first and broke off the neck to the supply line. The plastic had become very brittle and I knew it would never epoxy back together as is, so I used a small hollow metal tube to join what was left of the neck with a piece of 1/8" dia. nylon hose coupler. It sprays now, but there's a small amount of leakage due to the fact that there was also a crack along the inside of the ring. Not a problem during the summer, but we'll see how it holds up during the freezing winter weather.

This might also work with radiator. I'm pretty sure most epoxy can handle those temps if allowed to cure properly. Depending on how bad a shape the piece that broke off is in, you might considering simply replacing it with a metal or nylon piece.
