Sadly it can't be used on our OBD2 cars.

There's a local owner (WireX) with one, however, I have not seen the difference the modified unit makes.

Re: Tranny

I have two of these, one in the 92 Black over Silver, and one in the Ebony 92 with 4.44. I didn't buy the TCU exchange though, I bought just the ROM, and installed myself into spare TCU.
The one in the stock Silver works well, but if you look at the extended shift points published on ECUtunes website, you will see that it is a subtle difference /change from stock.. My main interest was in the increased pressure maps, to reduce slippage in the higher gears. The reduction of threshold temperature for ATF warning lamp is also a big plus. I have had trouble with the ROM installation in the 4.44 geared Ebony, that I have not sorted out yet. It appears it is not seeing vss1. Since I installed the ROM myself, it is probably something I did. I will be swapping the stock TCU back into it, then examine the PCB for soldering issues, as well as the connectors, etc.

Re: Tranny

i put one in my 92 when i had the tranny rebuilt. i kept my old computer and have swapped them back and forth several times to get a feel for the difference. the main difference i noticed is that it seems to have a lot quicker shift times and is way more likely to downshift than the standard tcu. also nice is the lowered temperature for the trans hot light, the first time it ever came on was when the tranny was already dead. have seen it come on a few times and checked the temp with a heat gun and it was hot but not so hot it was too late. only had it come on going over berthoud pass. i don't know if it's just me but i also seem to get an extra couple miles to a gallon. for the price i think this is probably one of the best upgrades i have done so far because it just gives the car a sportier feel, especially in the city.

Do you have the modified ECUtune TCU/ROM in your 4.44 is what I am asking...

Did the ECUtune TCU change the shiftpoints under very light throttle? Is 1st to second shift abrupt?
Since mine is not right, Im not sure if its working right, after it defaults to vss2.
How would you describe the difference from stock TCU with the 444?
