Side badges
 

Does anyone know what year the side badges (behind the rear window) were added to the SVX? I know I havent seen them on all SVX's, and my '92 doesnt have them, so I was wondering when they first started showing up.

Here is a pic, incase someone doesnt know what im referring too.

They started going on the 93s and were on the other years as well. You can get them from subaruparts.com or 1stsubaruparts.com.

Part number is J1210PS040 and cost around $15. each. :)

My 93 came with them. :cool:

The side emblems were added in 1993 to the 25th anniversary SVX, all of which were red. These badges continued until the end of production in 1997

They were not on the 92's. However, many members have added these to their 92 SVX's to update the look to the later models.

I'm thinking of putting Alcyone (sp?) or what not there, was that standard? ever? =) My tiburon has the non-US Tuscani 2.7 Elisa badges, might as well continue the trend =)

I think yours is 92 LS-L, there is no such model LSi in 92 :) :p

I have seen the SUBARU on the side badges painted over with gloss black and the lettering ALCYONE or GIUGIARO put on in its place, using dry dransfer letters, protected by clearcoat.

Thats why I'm here I guess. I dont have the car right now, its in paint so I cant check the production date. I was told it had to be a 92 becuase of the color, claret I guess its called, the dark maroon one. Its AWD with all the options I can think of. Havn't seen an actuall list, but AWD, moonroof, power everything, leather, CD, rear spoiler, etc. Dont realy know what to look for but I heard thats what makes an LSi, and I thought LS-L's didn't have the wing, but Again, I don't realy know. Now tiburons and supras, I can tell you about =) lol

In 1992, there were 2 models: LS (base model) and the LS-L (which had the touring package with leather seats, sunroof, CD, etc.)

Optional accessories available for either model was the rear spoiler, engine block heater, and the CD player (which was included with the touring package)

1993's were all loaded LS-L.
1994-95's had 3 models: The L, LS, and LSi
1996-97's had 2 models: L and LSi

:) Anyway the only models in 92 are LS and LS-L (with touring package). The spoiler is optional, so u may see it on LS too. But CD is standard on LS-L. The noticeable differences are leather package, power driver's seat, Sun roof, 6 speakers and heated mirrors. So, if you r having sun roof, it is LS-L. See here
