How common is the SVX alternator

I need to get my alternator replaced tomorrow because I'm going on the 48 hours of tri-state drive which starts tomorrow. Today, coming home from work, my warning lights all came on and my stereo started dropping out. Of course this had to happen tonight, the night before the drive.

So, I have 3 Suabru dealers within 45 minutes of my house. Should I have a problem finding an alternator? I went to Autozone because they're open later than the dealers and it's special order from them. If the Subaru dealers aren't stocking it, it is possible a Mitsubishi dealer might have it? It's made by Mitsu, right? Anywhere else to try?

Thanks!

PS - Here's a pic I took with my phone. All those warning lights on should indicate alternator trouble, right?

All I can say is good luck. No one in my town had one, including the Subaru dealer.

Autozone sucks (IMO) for anything other than the common denominator car. Try something like a NAPA or CarQuest shop. I got one in for my SVX in a couple of hours. Alternately (sorry for the pun) look for an auto electric shop in the area. Also search under "Beav" as a user name...he wrote up a piece about the parts needed to do the job yourself and I don't recall him saying they were all that rare so a good electric shop should be able to service the alternator. Good luck.

if you need the car tomorrow.. call all the napa dealers within 3 hours of your house.. then call the subie dealerships... then last resort call the autozone...

the napa alt is actually a little higher output than the other remans

having gone through this, I can say, DO NOT get anything less than 95 amps.... nothing but trouble if you do....

Libery Subaru had it in stock. They were the 5th dealer I called. It was about $190 plus a $50 core charge.
