I told John to call me when the wine was served.
Hope to see you soon. Ron. |
I am using Delorme Street Atlas USA 9.0 to plan, map, and with my GPS and Laptop, track my trip.
I'm curious as to what I can expect for fuel economy, John mentioned 30mpg, that latest poll suggested 25. And what is the capacity of the tank? Street Atlas thinks it can plan my fuel stops:rolleyes: here is a copy of the total route: http://www.subaru-svx.net/photos/files/CDG/6218.jpg |
Hey, call me and I'll be there. I'll even try to bring more than one SVX if I can.

mileage..
On my road trip to Indiana for the 10th meet, the best I got was 28.26 mpg....This was speeding across Nebraska, with the AC on.
Average 24 to 26, depending on terrain. |
Re: mileage..
My best overall mileage was on the trip to Lafayette in July. I got 29.8mpg on the trip out, travelling in a caravan about 80mph.
On long trips I usually get about 26mpg. Around here, my average country/city mileage runs about 23 using the oxygenated gasoline, which gives me less mileage. |

Route Change
There is no place prettier than I-70 west of Denver... But in February you might need to take the northern route through Cheyene WY. I think those roads are open quite a bit more than 70 is.
I lived in Boise for 5 years. for fun we'd do Denver for a weekend. The Green River valley is the prettiest place on the planet. Collins 92 pearlie Syracuse |

Meanwhile, I hope your GPS works in the SVX. I've had a bit of difficulty in mine. Works great in my wife's van. I'm using the Radio Shack DigiTraveler for laptop with the Delorme Street Atlas 2003. I love that little sucker. :D But, again, haven't been able to get it to work on the front dashboard. Perhaps I'll try to find a way to rig it on the rear deck. Godspeed for a safe trip. |
I had problems with my GPS as well until I got an exterior antenna. It is magnetic and will stick to the roof. I had more signal strength than I could believe when I plugged it in. It was worth the $25.00 that I paid for it. :)
