Possible source for shift boots for MT swaps?!?

http://i48.photobucket.com/albums/f2...1222071039.jpg

This is the shifter in a Toyota Corolla, notice how they used the same console trim piece for the MT and the AT, if the MT linkage will clear the hole, we might be able to use a Corolla shift boot with the stock SVX console trim. Just an idea...

looks too narrow.. too narrow for mine anyway

Hondasucks 02-03-2008 11:48 PM

I'm sure it could be made wider, just thinkin it might be a good starting point. If I ever have to take the console out of one I'll see what it looks like underneath as far as how wide the boot is...

Go stock Subaru.

WRX or Legacy 5 speed, in grey. The picture is black. Looks real stock. You would have to cut into the wooden panneling to make it fit right.

Gray momo performance alcantara shift boot:

Don't know about the knob, though. Maybe it would look good if the fake wood grain was painted silver. And the gauge faces, too.

The Momo shift boot is charcoal gray, but it works ok

Maybe I'm a bit anal, but I'm not putting a Toyota part in my car.:p

I'll probably buy a MOMO leather boot with silver piping and make an aluminum bezel, like the WRX and STi ones, except dimensioned to match the SVX console, with a matching groove, with the SVX logo machined into it.

I really like the way that Momo knob and boot look, even if the boot is gray... But I have gray interior so it'd work fine for me :D But I have the older style wood, so I don't think the knob would look as good in my car. But I need a freakin 5 speed first! Arrgh I hate being broke!

Redline goods will make you one for almost nothing out of genuine italian leather, fast too.

They made me a custom boot for my 98 RS with a 6 speed, I think it came to 60 bucks shipped, with an ebrake boot to match!
