Pics of SVX w/ no engine in bay

Does anyone have any handy pictures of an SVX without engine? I want to see the approx size of the engine bay for, umm, informational purposes only :lol:

Thanks

How wide between the rails? If it's not too much trouble...

Thanks again, those pics are good enough for now..

I bet an EJ18 or EJ22 would fit in there with room for a spare tire, too.

This is a good example of the one thing that bugs be about subaru's in general. The engine (more so in our SVX's) is sitting in front of the axle centerline.

^^ I'll take that sacrifice to get the symmetry.

It has to be... or it gets complex like a Citroen SM. Which is a mid engine FWD layout. Where the engine is behind the transmission. But imagine how hard it would be to get the drive train past the engine to the rear wheels.

If the SVX were front drive only... and designed that way, maybe they would have copied the SM!

The SVX is like all other Subaru's though... performance is not terribly affected by this.

that's why no hood.

it would be sad to do to a nice svx but a fun project to resurrect an old parts car that is pretty much just a shell.
