Engine stand bolts

I just bought an engine stand for my new spare engine and it didn't include any bolts to attach it. I should only need two bolts for the top. Does anybody know offhand what size bolt I should get?
Thanks

I haven't seen where the engine bolts to the stand but were there any bolts in those holes to begin with?

Nothing in the service manuals on the bolt size... I did an extensive search.

Anyway to back one of the bolts out of your car and take it with you?

I couldn't find the bolt size either. The two bolts protruding from the bottom of the engine case appear to be the same size that would be needed for the top two. I'll measure them and look for some metric bolts at the hardware store tonight.

I'll keep investigating too. I'm following your lead on this in June, so I have a vested interest in this. :)

Are you rebuilding the engine?

I used 4 bolts on mine. I got them at NAPA. I will check to see what size they are. :)

While I've got the engine on a stand I plan on replacing seals, belts, etc. since everything is so accessible. It's low mileage and relatively clean, but unfortunately it's been sitting for almost 5 years (1 year in my garage).
The stand from Harbor Freight was easy to put together. My only complaint was that for the two rear wheels there was only one washer per wheel. The stand sometimes rolled like a bad grocery cart. I bought two washers with a 1/2" center so that there'd be a washer on each side of the wheel and now it rolls very smoothly. Pardon by cheap camera.

Not knowing what size bolts to get to attach the engine to the stand I went to Home Depot and bought a couple of different metric size hex bolts. You only need two bolts for attaching the engine to the stand. It turns out that two 10 mm (1.25 x 80 mm) work perfectly. They are the right length and the 1.25 threaded right in. They are 8.8 grade. I took a picture showing the plate attached. The only thing left is getting two nuts for the bottom two bolts from the engine case. Hope this helps.

Picked up 2 10 mm (1.25) nuts on the way home from work and had a buddy help me lift the engine onto the stand. Works great. :) That engine is pretty heavy though. This will make things a lot easier. I should've bought this years ago. I am a little paranoid about my $50 stand holding my SVX engine

Wow! Nice overall shot of the timing belt. I had to save of copy of that. The "how to" here online doesn't have that clear of a view.

Thanks!! And double that for the bolt size. :)
