NA Dragstrip Record

I just wanted clarification as to who has the naturally aspirated record here on the boards on the dragstrip. Also, what is the 1/4 mile (And trap speed if you have it) that the N/A record holder has? Is Budfreak still the holder at 14.99 or something like that?

This is for a street legal, street driving, take it to motor vehicle SVX. Not a pure race SVX. Thanks!

Li'l off topic, but if this rain clears up me and my friend are racing at Island Dragway tonight, my SVX v. her Eagle Talon (in this rain we'd probably be smoking all other comers) - whats an average time I should expect to run?

SVXRide 11-09-2007 01:56 PM

mid to high 15s

Kevin,
Do a search of the site on 1/4 mile times. Chike or someone else did a thread on this a while back. The thread actually breaks things down into 4HEAT, Manual trans, etc.

how many miles are on your car

honestly i think a stock svx should run below a 15.5 but i think most svx are high miles >100k miles and/or not maintained properly so thats why most people run worse times

TomsSVX 11-09-2007 06:25 PM

14.53@95.8 I think... Best street driven time

Tom

Will do! Thanks for the info Bill.

Meanwhile, I did not do so well tonight. A perfect night for dragging an AWD. I just could not get into the 14's.

1st run
60ft -- 2.158
330 -- 6.256
1/8 -- 9.667
MPH -- 71.13
1000 -- 12.637
1/4 -- 15.137
MPH -- 90.87

2nd run
60ft -- 2.149
330 -- 6.228
1/8 -- 9.634
MPH -- 71.48
1000 -- 12.581
1/4 -- 15.070
MPH -- 91.38

3rd run
60ft 2.155
330 -- 6.238
1/8 -- 9.646
MPH -- 71.25
1000 -- 12.608
1/4 -- 15.101
MPH -- 91.06

I can make excuses a mile long but why? Temperature was in the 33-35F range according to the SVX. It is what it is. I have some winter work to get done with this car. It is a list of four items that need to get fixed. If by chance I lose my mind, a 5th item of modification needs to be done to blow that 60ft time out the water. No nitrous until this car goes into the 14's. :o

Kevin,
So, what was the exact set up of your car for these runs? Chike-mods + improved intake?

The Goods: Chike mods + ToMyx CAI + Bomz Ebay Underdriven Pulley + Level 10 PTS Hydrosystem

The Bads: Leaking tranny fluid (I can smell it), Leaking anti-freeze (Smelled before the tranny fluid..), clicking in my driver's side wheel (especially when turning left), Torque steer (Transfer clutch is going or is shot), front wheel spin hops during initial take off. Got a check engine light on the way home. It's only the O2 sensor though.

I thought the 2-3 hops/spin was normal but Tom tells me that should not be the case. So...those issues I mentioned above need to be addressed over the winter.

If all is addressed, I'd like to add a ProTorque high stall speed torque converter.

BTW: Does the XT6 and SVX share the same torque converter? Sorry if it is a stupid question but my FWD XT6 has a Protorque converter so if they are alike.....

You must appreciate that you have a different car from the US SVX. Make sure you know more than Subaru engineers before you, or someone after your money, starts stuffing up an excellent exhaust system. Best to simply free up the last muffler a little to the point that the noise does not exceed WOF requirements.
