widebody SVX

just tried a quick photochop to see what it might look like.

I parked the SVX next to the new gen montecarlo and seems rather small compare to the monte carlo. How about making it bigger?

Try this?
This is the stock body with the side skirting that I hope to be making by this summer...

You can sort of see styling cues in the back of the car (since that's all you can see anyway) that showed up in the 95-on Legacy wagons. |

how did they open the trunk on the SVX prototype? it appears that with the "wrap-around" wing the trunk wouldn't be able to be opened. non-functional trunk for the prototype? |

Steve, if you could make those side skirts that would be awesome! Even if you could just do up the prototype and then sell it to Brian to have it done in the tougher material so you don't have to mess with the fiberglass process. I just want some of these! :D
The spoiler would be nice too, built somehow that with a little bit of body work it could be made to look just like the prototype one piece with trunk lid type. A third brake light too, to raise it up to a more useful position. :) I agree with Nick that the wagon in the pic is not the Amadeus, I think I've seen pictures of it in some of the Japanese auto show brochures on ebay though, in the same years that the SVX was there. Amadeus probably came a few years later, when the SVX was already into production. Also, I've said this before, but does anyone else notice that there are a quite a few differences between the SVX and the Amadeus? Yeah its got split windows and looks to be the same body style sorta, but it is a lot more than just slapping a hatchback onto the rear of a SVX. Pretty much all of the panels look different, the sides, the front, everything. Look at the headlights, grille, etc, it looks like a more "updated" style, like what the SVX may have looked like if they had continued with it 98 and beyond. We'll never know I guess. |
There are 2 things I want on my SVX. The side skirt and the one piece spoiler.
Oh.. and I have pics of amadeus in my locker and on my site. Lwin |
So is subaru actually gonna make the Amadeus??? It looks like it would be kinda cool..... I probably would never want to own one but it is alright... What is it powered by???

Which is to say, they were a little overly optimistic. If the SVX had been well-received, I'd call the Amadeus at least a good try at an interesting experiment. But since the SVX was not the rousing success it should havebeen, nobody cared that they made a hatchback-wagon version just for grins. I agree with Troy - the styling on the Amadeus is probably something like what we would have seen had Subaru continued building the SVX and restyled it in the mid-90s. |
