Chicken in the mail!

Well, in a week or so, 24 ducks and 65 chickens :lol: I guess I'll have some eggs come summer :eek: then sometime in June I'll get some turkeys and geese, perhaps a pig or two next year, jeeze- I'll never need to go to the grocery store again :lol:

I want a cow, I really want a cow! After what the neighbors cow did to my SVX and my '88 325is I really enjoy a good steak dinner :mad:

I have ordered baby chicks and ducks in the mail before. My postal carrier could not wait until I went to pick them up. In fact they had called me at 6:30am and I picked them up before they even opened for the day.:D

What breeds are you getting?

We have had muskovy, pekin, swedish blue, runners, and khaki campbell ducks. As well as a family of wild ducks. The wild ducks mother had gotten run over by a car and the baby's where stopping traffic, we ended up taking them home with us and our muskovy duck took care of them until they flew away. The muskovy's are incredible parents.

And we have had Cornish X, barred rocks, buffs, white orpingtons, black australorps, Golden comets, and rhode island red chickens.

Chickens can read!!?

Who woulda thunk it?

:rolleyes::lol:

They are so cute!
Makes me want to get a few baby chicks again.:rolleyes::D

We used wood chips and straw for a bedding for the little chicks. Straw was very easy to remove and lay down fresh, and they liked cuddling up in it.

Watch out. I hope they dont see any specials on chicken for sale in the supermarket circular. They might get freaked out. :lol::lol:

Too cute says the cat as she listens through the door :tongue: Wood chips are under the paper that will be removed today, just there long enough for the chicks to learn what food is :rolleyes:

They read a different language, the paper says "poop here" :lol:

These guys just won't hold still for a picture :lol: got tha call at 6:30 this morning, but one didn't make the trip, and I lost 3 more chickens due to crowding, I keep adjusting the light to let them spread out, but they like to pile :eek:

New pictures are in order, I believe the ducks are geting bigger, but the chicks are blatent about it! I've gotta cut back on the food, totally removing it over night, the little meat birds are eating themselves huge! They barley fit in the palm of my hand at 9 days old! :eek: and 7 days of eating :eek:
