Front Control Arm Bushes

I just learned that Subaru only sells complete control arms for $385 and does not sell the inner rubber bushes. Same old SVX story.

Apparently they are not difficult to change with a press (which I have) if I can get the parts.

Does anyone know a source for conventional rubber or polyurethane bushes? Do any of the SVX aftermarket shops sell them?

As far as I know, you do, in fact, have to replace the whole arm. I've never heard of someone pressing in new bushings. :(

Someone please chime in if i'm wrong!

If I get a minimum 50 piece order I can get them made.

If I recall, the same bushing fits in both locations, so each set would be four bushings, or 13 sets to make it a go

I'll probably buy 3 sets myself.

I can get whoever needs them a complete set of them at the end of April. I have some spare front control arms. I should be able to press them out without any damage.

I'm sure they would cost the same as the polyurethane rear differential mounts. :D

Ken, let me know which arm it is you need. I have a parts car I could take it off of and just replace the whole arm

David,
Please start a separate thread on the control arm bushings and put me at the top of the list for a complete set!

p.s. Kudos to David for helping give the SVX the ride it should have always had. Used in conjunction with SVXFiles "$15/15min" mod, we're actually getting to the point of having a car that doesn't have marshmellows for bushings!

I need the left front control arm. That would be great to get a good used one considering I am at 205K miles now.

My '92 motor is fixed. Rough running got worse and then it went onto 5 cylinders. #4 coil went bad. The new coil fixed both issues so the rough running must have been the deteriorating coil.

I'll call you this weekend.
Ken
