Street R a/i cers (rant/story)
 

this car draws street racers, i swear every ricer ou thtere wants to race, from fart pipe hondas, to neon'd neons...
most of the time i don't even give ppl who want to race me a secong glance, i let them go on looking like a moron

but occasionaly, every now and then, someone truely worthy tries to race me (it also helps if i'm in a mood to hand someone their ass) and i will race them, if the road is clear, and straight, and there's no sidestreets for people to unexpectedly come out of, no residential areas, or anything like that

sooo if all the conditions are right, and they challenge me, by being a dumbass, i just can't let them go without absolutly knowing it and shut them down

tonight that situation was right, and the dumbass was a mitsubishi diamante driven by some punk ass kid who decided to ricer flyby me when i was already doing 55, in the 50 zone.

as he passed me i gassed it, and let him know i wasn't gonna let him be a dumbass
and there was a light up ahead, and he was behind some suv, strangely like the only other car on the road, so i, in the right lane, and he in the left lane behind the suv, leave the light, i take off normaly get back up to 55, and he goes around the suv, and decides to flyby me again, and i wasn't letting him have it this time, when he passed me he was going probaby 75 and i was goin 55, and i stomped it, and the power light came on. and i was off, by the time i hit 100 i had overtaken him, and satisfactorily made a complete fool of him.

not quite sure what it was you showed him though.

somehow his passing you while you were doing 55 is a challenge to a race? when i drive on the highway, i get passed. I dont consider that a challenge, nor do I go rawring off after them. And when I feel saucy and go speeding around, passing others, I'm in no way challenging the other cars. I'm just maintaining a faster rate of speed than they.

and just because he backed off at 100, does not mean his car couldnt handle 100+ mph. it may just mean that he is a more reasonable individual than you.

he may be some punk kid, but from this post it sounds like you're the asshole. grow up.

I saw that post comming. Whats wrong with a street race now and then? I mean there is being an idiot and racing down neigborhood roads, and then there is just good clean racing to the speedlimiters on the highway. Sure something can go wrong at 140mph but it can also go wrong at 55mph you just never know, you may as well have fun before you die.

i don't think racing is that bad, but i hope you do it responsibly. i hope that you both know what you are doing because if not, you are going to kill someone someday. i would not do it if there are cars and traffic in the road. also i'd make sure you car was in the condition to do it (i.e. brakes, tires, sanity, etc.). and if that aka 'punk' is a retard that looks like a maniac you already lost. because that guy has nothing to lose and is too stupid to worry about death. just a few things to consider.

had to go the same road where i totalled my svx again in the middle of the night with no one on the road and with rain and fog home. but was going 5mph below speed limit.....i think ;D

Noir has it right....to me, the trouble with street-racing is that it proves NOTHING. Take that as it is, from an old fart who did his share of street racing "back in the day".
Things can go wrong at 55, but they go wrong REAL FAST and REAL BAD at 100+. It's really not worth the ego massage.

:| Unless you're a manual I wouldn't street race much. After getting my ass handed to me by a Jeep, a Cavalier Z24, and a few other 'lame' cars, I'd rather just 'pretend' the car is fast.

the svx will and should beat most normal cars,,,,.corolas,,civics,,neons,,,cavaliers. stock to stock but a sports car,, it wont,

i figured that this thread would evoke a lot of anti street racers...
like i said i don't street race often, but this guy really got my goat...

and he didn't just pass me, he came up to me as fast as he could, as close to my rear bumper as he could before going into the other lane, to pass.

but it won't. I know for a fact that a Cavalier Z24 is faster than it, so is a Neon R/T. :(
