New England Tranny cost

I just committed to a factory rebuilt for my 92. The dealer ( Tri-State Subaru in Webster, MA) quoted $3695 installed with a 2/24 warranty. I did check with Level-10 and their price was the same except that I'd have to get the car to them and back, est. another $1000 or a long slow drive in 2nd gear.

I've had good luck with this dealer and trust his master mechanic so in a week or so I'll have the car back.

$3700 sounds high, but not as high as some have been quoted...or paid...
