BTW, to save the wheels you could mount the tires on regular steel wheels. Subaru used to sell a steel wheel that fit the SVX for this purpose. I have a set, but I've never actually used them. :) |

http://www.subaru-svx.net/forum/show...&threadid=1230 Anyhow, for tires, I've got the Toyo Observe Studless and they are sweeeet. My SVX goes through snow better than the F*rd F150 4x4 I had before I got the SVX. And they are pretty quiet when there isn't any snow either. Big thumbs up for them! I bought a second set of SVX stock Aluminum rims to put them on too. Here's a picture of the tread: http://briefcase.yahoo.com/bc/steveb...c=bc%26.view=l |
Minnesota snow tyres
The Lake Wobegon Driving Club recommends Lutheran snow tires. They track on the straight and narrow and grip the snow like a Norwegian bachelor farmer grips his wallet....
....seriously, my Swift has used Blizzaks with great success. Jean's Impreza used Blizzaks until last winter when I found a deal on Yokohama Guardex's which seem to do equally well. I use Dunlop Graspics on the SVX, but I don't have to face Minnesota winters either. All those listed in the other posts above have received high marks from the membership. Don |
