ops wrong fluid

found out after i put power steering fluid into the
"power steering" resavoir that it takes dexron 2 automatic transmission fluid, so now the pump doesnt sound to good,, i have to drain the fluid this weekend and replace it the tranny fluid.. weird,

this just adds to how messed up our cars are LOL !!

You should have read your SVX owners manual :p (unless of course you don't have one.. I still got mine, says in the power steering section, it takes Dexron 2 Automatic Transmission fluid..) sorry to hear bout the inconvenience, good luck with the drain.

Its one of many cars that use tranny fluid as a power steering fluid. Nothing out of the ordinary there.

Don't bother draining it man. It really doesn't matter. Power steering fluid and ATF are basically the same exact thing, in different colors.

Yeah, ti does sound a tiny bit different, but it won't hurt anything. Do a search Solar. There are quite a few other threads where Randy and tons of other 'wise ones' say the exact same thing.

You don't need the owners manual....it's printed on the power steering cap.
