Yes, old news. Some JDMs without airbags have that wheel. The OEM radio in those cars is a different model (than in the other JDMs) with electronic volume control (a rotary encoder rather than a potentiometer).
USDM cars (and others except Europe) have the extra wire on the radio harness. I haven't bothered to check to see if makes it all the way to the roll connector in the steering column. Not really interested, since I'd rather have the airbag than SWCs. European SVXs use a different radio harness that lacks that wire (not even an empty pin position for it). My anti virus/spam software complained about your link. "https" isn't really necessary. This link works a little better (same site, without https). Since that for-sale listing will go away some day, I've attached a couple of the pictures: http://img194.imageshack.us/img194/7...jdmdash.th.jpg http://img113.imageshack.us/img113/1...jdmswcs.th.jpg The radio is aftermarket (funny, never heard of "AddZest" brand ). I seriously doubt that radio knows how to use the SWC buttons. |

Re: A Japanese SVX
Was this Giugiaro's clay SVX model??????????
CLAY SVX Sorry for posting all those pics, but I remember watching a documentary about the SVX when it was under heavy testing in Japan I suppose. I remember from the footage stating that the gas tank was made out of plastic with the maximum fire retardant possible. I also remember putting the car on a "suspension" machine, with peers tied to its hubs and inflicting the highest amount of torture possible lol... It is the same footage where numerous crash test photos were posted before on this forum... |
