i'm thinking about doing a trans swap

and i was wondering what year trans will work, from the impreza or legacy?

it wound be awesome if i could put in a sti 6.

if the sti 6 does fit will all years of the sti trans work?

Yes there are 5 speed and 6 speed conversions done.

Any transmission for an EJ series engine will bolt right up.

Yes you can put a 6spd in from any year. Just make sure you get the matching rear differential ratios with it. That goes with any transmission you decide on.

question: i have found a 1998 impreza trans 5 speed on a ej22 engine with matching diff would that trans hold up to the svx's weight and power?
