Weather stripping

I was on line last night looking to buy new weather stripping for the doors and trunk. The reply I got back is none of it was still available. Does anyone know where I can get them? Or is there a replacement?

Thanks,
Adam

If the dealer told you it's unavailable, I wouldn't be surprised. You may be able to get something made for the trunk, but the piece for the door is impossible to replicate for any amount of money that one would consider reasonable.

I have spares but they've been sitting in a box for awhile, so I'm not sure on the condition. If you do find them, the main one for the door is around $250-300 per side if I remember correctly. Plus the other rubber strips, but again, those other ones are more simple that they could be replicated.

Would you be willing to sell the spares? If so, I would be interested. Just as long as they are in good shape.

Thanks,
Adam

I have to head back to WI where most of them are next week. I'll carefully "dig" them out and check them all out. See what I've got. Anything in particular you're having issues with that they're needing replaced?

Thanks,
The door molding on the body of the car and on the door is starting to dryrot. I tried to clean it but it seamed to be dried out and starting to crack. I guess right now im after anything for the door area to keep the rain out.

I appreciate it. Do you havething else for it? Im doing a restor and want to try and replace anything that I can on her. Want to have her for atleast another 12 years.

Cheers,
Adam

I've got any and everything. Also, I've got friends over in Jersey so I could even bring whatever out in person. It's always nice to meet up with a fellow SVX owner as well :D

Re: Weather stripping

Your making my day! besides the weather stripping Im looking for:
Fender liner edge gards on all 4
Headliner (with sunroof cut out)

I think thats it for now. Im having the ABS sensor repaired this week and plan to get it to a body shop to work on straighting out the fender and a new paint job. If you can think of anything else that would be smart to replace, let me know. Also, if you can find it and willin to sell. Let me know what your looking to get.

If your ever in NJ look me up. Im always for meeting up and getting a cheese steak. Plus if ya like I can get ya a tour of the Joint Base.

Cheers,
Adam

Who told you these are no longer available? I did a quick check at subaruparts.com and the stuff you appear to be describing shows as, "usually ships in 4 to 10 days." I didn't check for the trunk. (Certainly their info may be incorrect or outdated.) Stuff's expensive, natch, so used is probably a good play.

I'd advise checking several sources before concluding that any OEM part is no longer obtainable.
