SVX Stereo Issues
K guys here's the deal
It's time to upgrade the ole SVX stereo system...hoping to keep original wiring and speakers so looking for one with high and low pass filters CD player ofcourse and usb input on the front if possible. but all that Im finding on the web Im going to either cut wires plastic or metal to mount it but Im still wanting it to hide just like the cassette that's in mine now lol...Any suggestions are welcomed. Also does the SVX have a built in amp or is it safe to buy and install one? got my eye on a 10 -12 inch sub as well. Fabrication is ok just as long as not too extensive cause Im a little affraid of doing stuffs on my own for the fact that I don't want to mess it up so therefor I tend to shy away from it. saw on here somewhere that some one putt a WRX system in there car? lol anyways any help is very appreciated. Thanks -Joe |
If you're not replacing the speakers don't worry about getting an amp. The replacement deck will me more than sufficient to power the stock speakers.
Definitely get the SVX stereo harness from "svxdc" as that will save you much time and effort. |
is svxdc a member here or a website? and anysuggestions on sub and deck?
|
He's a member here.
One of the reasons I chose an Alpine deck was because of how the colours matched with the SVX dash. |
The information about the wiring harness is in the How-To Docs or the link is here. Good luck. :)

eg: - # preouts - deck wattage - MP3 capable - price - DVD capable - size (1 or 2 din) - etc. |
what are preouts used for ... and what is a good considerable wattage that will go good with a 12" sub and have decent boom for buck with mp3 cap. and usb front port and that will play Techno/Rave/Electronica music pretty good you think :) got to have that bump lol
