Head Light Replacement
Hi I got this description for the HL replacement from one of the "how to doc's": R/L High Beam Lights 9005
Is this the OEM lights or improved after market part. I have a 92 SVX with extremely weak lights. I can hardly see a thing driving in the dark and I have fairly good eyesight. |

Check the clarity of the lens and use some lens repair if cloudy or yellowing. If you want to stay close to OEM get something like Sylvania SilverStars https://www.sylvania.com/en-us/produ...tar-ultra.aspx of the appropriate size IE 9005. HIDs are available but are a bit of a wiring chore. |
Re: Head Light Replacement
You can also use high beam bulbs in the low beam sockets with a minor modification of the bulb base.
There's a "How To" doc. The low beam is a projector type and will not blind oncoming drivers. Personally I wouldn't bother with the Silverstars. In my experience they give a minor improvement in brightness, are expensive and burn out very quickly. |
Re: Head Light Replacement
First check what type of bulbs you have fitted, UK, JDM and Europe have H1 and H3 fitments. I fitted HID to mine, was easy, no wires to cut or join.:)

Re: Head Light Replacement
DDM Tuning has Plug and Play HID kits for 9006 (low beam). It only takes about 5 minutes to change the stock bulbs for HID's. Definitely clean up your headlights if they are yellowing, it makes a big difference.

Thanks for all the help guys! Will definitely have to do a cleaning job first!
@Scoobymal, how will I know what type of bulbs I have fitted? Service manual, I suppose? @Sean486, are these DDM tuning kits available to order online? |
