Violins is the answer.

Last night my wife noticed that her new Volvo had been sideswiped by an unknown vehicle. She called the police and made a report. The officer said that he thought the repairs would be in excess of $750. This morning she made the rounds asking tellers (she works at a bank where the tellers have a good view of her car in the lot) and neighbors if they'd seen anything. One mentioned a white truck that was going against traffic (which was the way the at-fault vehicle had to be going, as noted by the damage), and was awfully close to her car, but that they really couldn't see it that well. Also, the neighbor, who saw the same truck, said she didn't think it was that close.

What we could have done:
a.) Wait until the truck is sighted again, chase down the driver, shoot him and burn his truck.
b.) Get the license number of the offending vehicle and take the driver to court.
c.) All of the above (not necessarily in that order).

The cost for us to the above would probably be $500 to life.

What we did:
Got estimates on the damage (repaint both doors - replace molding), schedule repairs, suck it up. Cost $695.05.

We don't like it, but people generally are just careless and these things are going to happen from time to time.

If we all respected the property of others there wouldn't be any problems. Ah well. Welcome to the real world.

It, like the SVX, is just a car. (Okay, that's not entirely true. :) )

I hate that happened

Very agrivating to have that hapen to you. Makes you feel kindof vinctimized.

Someone backed into my wife's old LeBarron once. I took a plunger and pulled the dent back out.

Even if you have collision insurance you still have to go through the hassle of getting it fixed.

Just keep repeating to yourself... Peace, Joy, Longsuffering...

One of my favorite quotes and what I try to remember on a daily basis:

"I never said that it would be easy, I only said that it would be worth it." :)
