questions

hi guys,
..i have engine coolant leaking out from the upper radiator hose where it joins the radiator and the car is smoking right now!! i think it might be the clamp that is not giving enough tension, though at the same time i can say that both the upper and lower radiator hoses are aftermarket (which means that they didn't quite fit perfectly to begin with) i never had this problem until today. so my question for this is if i go out and buy a hose and/or a clamp, would there be a **** load of engine coolant gushing out if i take off the clamp and hose??

and the second question is if anybody knows the size of the hose that is for the vacuum lines more particularly the two lines that go to and from the charcoal canister and the small vacuum lines that are under the manifold plenum. i would like to change the ones to the charcoal canister and i think the ones under the plenum that have been changed are leaking.. i do hear a noise from around the power steering pump -((( which i thought was that i needed to change the power steering o-ring ~))) ...or at least around that area...around the power steering resorvior and the plenumand that i haven't done yet~ but when i rev the car a little it would kind of hiss pr whine like a vacuum leak. my mechanic believes its just a valve opening but i dont believe him.
/////so...the question was if anybody knows the sizes of the small vacuum hoses for under the plenum and to and from the charcoal canister??

thanks.

Factory hoses are reasonably priced, and fit perfectly.

Since when is Canada located near the gates of hell?

it moves...it's not a stationary point...

Canada has always been north of the us and west of europe

Unless your talking about plate teconics, then we get all confused

Okay...the top hose, there shouldnt be too much coolant leaking when you go replace it. The coolant flows from up to down the radiator, and the water pump is what makes it get there in the first place. there wont be much antifreeze running throught there unless the motor is running.

i found out what it was. the neck on the radiator busted -just like the original radiator that i had in when i bought the car. i "fixed" it up this morning and went off to work.
should there be any concern with coolant splashed over the pulleys and belts? is there a way to clean it off ?

I wouldnt worry much. It might make a funny noise and slip at the worst. I would probly clean them up with some simple green or similar cleaner and be done with it
