external tranny filter
Has anyone been able to purchase a replacement ext tranny filter PN 31099AA370? I've checked w/the Subi dealer and they said that the # is a valid # and that it's not discontinued but that there are none avail in the states.
I've checked w/Napa and they said that if I brought in a PN they might be able to help. I told them that I just wanted a generic tranny ext filter. They said that w/o a pn, they couldn't help me. For those that installed the Permacool filters, did you just leave the old filter in place? Earl, I saw that you mounted yours on the pass side. Was there something in the way on the drivers side because that's where my filter is. I just want to replace it because I'm flushing out all of the fluids in my car and the rusty old add-on bugs me. Also, Earl, I agree with you on the vertical mount. Much easier and less messy to change. My lawnmower has an oil filter mounted vertically but it's mounted from the top. What were they thinking??? There's no way to change it without making a mess everywhere. |
Ever try changing the oil filter on 1985 - 1995 Nissan Maxima? Give that a try then tell me who has the most warped auto engineers in the world.

Last month I purchased a 31099AA370 from Subaruparts.com for $12.07.

OK, I'm a dumba$$. I previously went to Subaruparts.com and hunted through the tranny parts but was unable to find the filter kit. The thought of simply typing in the part number never occurred to me. Thanks. Part is on order.
