Venting my Anger toward Freight Shipping

Well My brother is having me take care of setting up the freight for shipping his engine...Being the second middle man I am getting very angry with many people...Now I got some guy in Arkansas who wants me to freight him my SVX trans I have listed on EBay as LOCAL PICKUP ONLY... Now I hate dealing with freight companies because I am just a normal person with a lot of heavy parts laying around and they like to screw with me... I HATE freight shipping with a passion... Just thought I would vent my frustrations

The person who bought my stock SVX trans had it shipped to him. However, the guy was on-time, very helpful and was delivering the trans to Dulles airport where it was to be air flown to Chicago that evening!

Freight companies are usually terrible. I bought a car door that was crated extremely well, and they still managed to beat it to the point of unusable by the time it got here.

Never did get my money back on it.

Which freight companies have you tried?

I used BAX Global when I was selling 6MTs, and they were mostly great to deal with. Great prices. In fact, the best I could find. Generally, they don't like to do residential pickups because they automatically assume that they can't get a truck in there. You can just lie though, and say its a shop. With BAX, you have to tell them that you need a truck with a lift gate for pickup (and if necessary, for the delivery location). Otherwise, you'll be stuck trying to heft your packaged up tranny onto the bed of the truck.
