correct wheel size and backspacing for this size tire. help?

3 of the stock wheels wont hold air, they go completely flat within 10 min. i have 2 brand new falken azenis 225/45 17s in my room, so i figured id just buy 2 more. with that tire size, what would be the optimum wheel size? (offset, and wheel width) i dont wanna screw the handling, and i need new wheels so i figure if i can afford them, i may as well go aftermarket and find something i like. thanks again!

just double checking, 114.5 is the correct?

Screw handling, you're talking about the AWD system here. Not only is matching tires HIGHLY reccomended, so is tread wear! Not doing so can cause binding and eventual transmission problems.

Yes, it's 5x114.3

Why not get a set of stockers for a couple hundred. Chances are they'll have matching tires with even wear.

These tires will fit on a 7" to 8.5" wide wheel. Optimum is 7.5" or 8".

Best offset spec for the SVX is 48mm to 53mm. Centerbore is 56mm.

you know, im thinking that was part of the reason the trans went on my brother before i ended up with the car. the fronts and rears were different sizes, and when he got a flat, he just went to the used tire place. the two falkens i have are brand new, still with the little rubber stud/pointy things on them. tags even still on the tread. they are st115s i believe. anyhow, the tires were free, so i figure, ill just get two more, and some rims.

heres another big money saver for me potentially. i have some 17x7's (or 7.5, i dont remember) in my garage, bolt patterns the same, i dont know the backspacing or centerbore, but they fit fine, no issues with hitting anything. well, i never realized it till after i bought them, but theyre not perfectly round anymore. if i put them on the groud, and slowly roll them, 2 of them will have about a 3 or 4 mm gap between the ground in one spot as they roll. the tire guys in kenosha dont seem to know anything, and all say to take them in to get back to being round, some said its fine keeping them like that, and some said i can never use them again. i was told theyre aluminum, but i dont know for sure. any thoughs on this? if i could use these, all id need is to more new tires.

You can get plastic hub rings for the centre. Any wheel shop will have them. 4mm is an interesting dent. I'd wonder if it would chafe the bead as the tire moves under cornering etc.

My girlfriend has a sebring with 17's that are I swear made of butter. They are bent in all directions and they seem to work just fine. I don't recomemd using bent rims I just know that it can be done.

Perhaps with that small a dent you could get them straightened for next to nothing. A really bad rim repair here is about $75.00. That would be less than 4 new rims.
