Its funny, I was looking at that car earlier, I used to have one almost exactly like it and thought about another one, then I saw it was in NY and changed my mind. (Thats where my last one came from and it completely fell apart, though mine came from close to NYC and NYC drivers are too hard on them.) I look at legacy's occasionally, I miss the space in the back, but I have never had good luck with subaru's. Including my current SVX.
Anyways, congrats on the car! :) :)

Its the one budfreak has been working on for me.

Sadly the guy I bought it from lied to me about almost everything on the car, and it has needed almost everything from bumper to bumper replaced.

Lemon law?

sicksubie 04-01-2007 07:39 PM

what exactly is the differenc in the Brighton editions?

MPtyza 04-01-2007 07:49 PM

Usually the Brightons are your bare bones base model. Manual everything, including transmission, windows, locks, mirrors. No tach  Basically a car body with 4 wheels, and not much else

Brighton edition Legacy's have no tachometer and rear drum brakes. They also don't usually have power locks or windows.

TomsSVX 04-01-2007 07:56 PM

its perfect for me... just a suby w/ 4 wheels that drives and has some cargo space... now tomorrow I get a new tranny at Harry's if I have time

...and some are 2wd.

Nice find tom. Will look pretty decent with a little care. Congrats on your first non-svx soob!

TomsSVX 04-01-2007 09:33 PM

kind of impulse really... had 30mins left when i first spotted it and I let it cook in the ol' noggin for those 30 mins and I said screw it:) it is my 1st non-svx soobie so lets see what they are all about already. 250k... I got another 100 more for this ol' girl... I am snaggin some 99 outback struts and rear brakes tomorrow if I can for it. also a dash cluster with a tach. Here is to having a soob with some room:D

not a bad deal for tom and he can work on it himself.

a fren of mine recently bought a camry with 287K for 1200
i think it's a lot of money on that car but apparently everything
runs good

Speedklix 04-02-2007 05:09 AM

miles are really not as important as they are cracked up to be... how they made it to that mileage is.

I have had plenty of cars sell cheap just because they had alot of miles which, in my opinion, were MUCH better than many of the identical cars that I sold with say half the miles.

MPtyza 04-02-2007 03:33 PM

Tom, you may not need a whole other cluster if ya want a tach. When I first got my Impreza Brighton, I was able to just screw in the tach itself, keeping my original cluster. I don't see why you wouldn't be able to do it with a Legacy as well, I mean the cluster's are all of the same basic general design that way.

He is correct. i think there is a writeup over on USMB if you want a little help.
