Rpm cut off at 3,500rpm

I need help. I have a 5 speed swapped SVX, CEL isn't on, just rpm cut at 3,500rpm most of the time. Here's a video of it in neutral, does it in all gear though (really jarring in gear of course)

Where does anyone go for help with the SVX these days? This is so sad compared to how this forum used to be back when I first joined...

How long has it been doing it?
How long ago was it converted to 5 speed?

Just the past 2 days. A month ago.

I have saved CELs for both O2 sensors, but nothing current. If somehow both O2 sensors were out, would it run right or cause this?

I can't think of anything that would cause it sorry, but I have seen some 5 speed conversions where the wiring was altered that caused some problems. Did you run any extra wiring, or jump any connections?

I didn't do the swap. I'm asking the mechanic now.

This is one of the problems that a conversion had.

It does not appear that the transmission or its connections are involved with the tacho.

The taco utilises a signal from the ECU, which apparently uses the crank position sensor or the engine timing circuitry in order to detect engine speed.

The tacho derives its ground and battery voltage supply via a two pin plug-socket connected by a black ground wire and a green yellow positive supply wire, supplied via fuse 15. From the available diagrams it appears to exit the instrument loom and is under the dash.

Worth a check for voltage and ground.

Fixed it. Loose ground terminal on the intake manifold. Back passenger side. I figured it was a ground issue when my speedo started cutting out too.

The engine movement must have been moving it on and off.
That was an easy fix.:)

Absolutely, I had nightmares this wouldn't ever go away...

Spot on analysis! I had the intake manifold off a week ago to replace all the cracking vacuum lines and PCV system. I finger tightened that bolt and forgot about it as the car was running perfect. I guess it wiggled loose.
