After many hours of random thoughts and seeing last month's Sport Compact Car where they painted a brand new STi flat black. I'm beginning to wonder what a flat black SVX would look like. I did a quick photoshop, and I kinda like it....what do you guys think?

I'm pretty sure that svxhunter's $2004 challenge SVX is flat black.

Edit: I was wrong - it's only about half flat black. :)

Don't do it!

Flat black doesn't look too bad if done professionally, but I've seen several 'ricers' use that color to paint their hoods (fake C/F look) and it looks cheesy.

A bad factory paint job looks 10 ten times better than a cheap 'Krylon' paint job anyday... ;)

Definately not. My roof already has no gloss to it, clearcoat is peeling on the doors, lots of dings, hood (replacement) has no paint, fender has been spraypainted.

Anyone know where to get flat silver paint? :D

P.S. The Civic is actually a semi-flat, which is what I would end up using if I do it.

you know, it would not be too terribly difficult to mount a rocket launcher in the trunk, you know for those drivers who want to see up your tailpipe...;)

Don't like it myself. I think they all look ready to be painted a REAL color. (primered)

that last car of the flat silver was taken at the SEMA show last yr..
It was a special new paint just making it onto the market then.
By now it should be ready to buy on the market..
It looked great in person.
Theres a older Porsche 911 turbo here in town painted a nice Flat Black, but shows fingerprints pretty bad

I'm not a fan of flat paint on cars. :(
