OE vs Aftermarket Gaskets?

Magnificent members 8-)

Thanks to many I was able to correct my transmission problems. Thee 4.44 does shift nice. But of course there always has to be something else-right?

Vacuum leaks- ugh. I am in the process of removing the intake plenum to replace the vacuum lines. Outlaw thermal spacers should be on their way Monday.
Which is the better choice Subaru OE or aftermarket replacement intake plenum gaskets. OE are a little more expensive and take longer to receive. The pictures of the aftermarket do not look exactly like the OE.

As usual your sound advise is respected and appreciated.

Peace and happiness,

Jeff

When you have it off, dont forget to clean your idle air control valve, EGR passage (needs a new gasket too) and main intake ports. You may also consider removing the throttle body from it and cleaning thoroughly also..... keep in mind whatever you remove to clean will need a new gasket but its better to do all this at once while you have the intake off. Its also a good time to test the IRIS valve actuator and check on the condition of the knock sensors.

Either or, just go name brand if not OE.

The factory gaskets are thicker and better made than the ones that Outlaw sends you.
BUT I am using a combination of both in a boosted application.
Both hold up to 10-11 psi.

But I like the factory ones better and will upgrade eventually.
